Individuals enrolled in Bachelor's, Master's or Doctoral degrees in the field of Neurosciences or related sciences, as well as other individuals who demonstrate an interest in this field, may become Adherent members. A new Adherent Member must be introduced by one Effective or Founder Member.

Effective members must have authorship of at least two scientific articles in the field of Neuroscience or related sciences, published in refereed scientific journals and indexed in the 'Web of Science' and/or 'Scopus'. A new Effective Member must be introduced by two Effective or Founder members.

The admission and withdrawal of SPN Members are discussed and accepted in the General Assembly. Membership fee: 25€ (annual)

Note:
According to SPN bylaws (https://spn.org.pt/about/about02.asp), a member with two years of overdue membership fees will lose the membership and the accounts in SPN and FENS will be deactivated (losing all the benefits). To reactivate both accounts the membership fees must be regularized (new membership is not accepted).
